The no. 8 is pronounce as "phart" in Cantonese which also means "farrrrt" ahhhHHH ( RICH )!!! Chinese people have alway believed that the no. 8 can bring good fortune to us. This is the reason why China chose this date to held the Olympic games.

The opening ceremony will be held in Beijing National Stadium, nicknamed "Bird Nest" which have a sitting capacity of over 90 000 people. The opening ceremony will begin at 8.pm ( China eh time ) today and there will be performance by well established artist such as Celine Dion and Jay Chau. The Olympic slogan this time is One World, One Dream which is to call upon the world to unite the Olympic spirit within!

- Some Chinese sites are pointing out that the no.8 actually brings bad luck rather than good.

- The snow storm struck on 1-25. The numbers added together: 1+2+5 = 8.
